Here at Carshalton Boilers, we are a close-knit, Family run business. We can trace our roots back over 50 years! John-Paul took over the running of the business, from his Father, in 2007. Since then he has computerised the whole operation and now employs 20 people. Matthew is one of our 10 gas engineers and here you can get an insight in to a typical day in his life!

The best sight for any engineer after a service is flame rectification. A healthy blue flame confirms burner ignition and a correctly combusting boiler.
We are keen advocates of annual boiling servicing, your boiler can become clogged with soot, lint and other potentially flammable debris. Cleaning out a floor standing, open flue boiler and a room sealed boiler burner are a few of many checks we take to ensure that the boiler is safe to use.
A service will also test the CO2 emissions from your boiler, an essential test to keep you and your family safe!
During our working day we regularly carry out lots of Gas pressure testing, such as the burner pressure test.
After a repair we may need to reset your boiler. An example of this would be a combination boiler after a low system pressure lock out. Most boilers have safety devices that will lock-out the boiler upon failure.
A Flue Gas Analysis test confirms the emissions your boiler is producing are within the safety parameters set by your boiler’s manufacturer. This is one of the most important tests on your boiler as it also helps to test the soundness and effectiveness of your flue.
Last couple of jobs for the day are replacing a gas valve on a condensing boiler that has failed causing incomplete combustion. When your heating stops working, many people fear the worst, it’s often the case however that the boiler just needs a service or perhaps a part replacing.
