Our commercial engineer team is growing

Posted by: Carly Temple on 18th February 2020

Last week saw our commercial engineer Matthew Williams undertake some further training and qualifications, helping to build our team of experts in commercial and industrial heating and plumbing. We are delighted to announce that he is now fully qualified in commercial heating work.

Matt enjoyed the training.

“I found the course intense and challenging, as well as interesting and fulfilling. Working with greater pressures and volumes of gas requires great knowledge of not only how to work with it safely but also correctly, ensuring efficient operation of appliances.

The course itself was spread out just over a two week period at Nescot College in Epsom. The Gas Academy facility provided a positive learning experience, and its staff friendly and always willing to help. I was fortunate enough to see an old friendly face in Brian my course instructor, first meeting him back in 2007 at the British Gas Academy in Dartford when I was an apprentice.

Each module, consisted of a written paper as well as practical examinations, the most challenging being “Strength and Tightness testing, and Purging” very different from what is required in Domestic Gas.

It’s not the natural environment for a commercial engineer to have their head in books for a couple of weeks, so I shall be glad to get back to work and putting my new knowledge and skills to good use for our customers.”
