October Half Term local events!

Autumn is upon us! As the weather cools, the heating is on and the leaves are changing from the lush greens to golden, browns! October marks the half-way point, through the first school term and in Sutton and Epsom school half term starts on 21st October. Here are some local activities if you are looking to keep the children occupied next week!

Morden Hall – lots going on!

Scarecrow trail

Saturday 19th-3rd November 10-4pm – A family fun trail looking for clues to help the scarecrows!

Hay Maze

Saturday 19, 26 and 6th Nov 11-3pm – Can your children find their way out the maze!

Pumpkin Carving Fest

Saturday 19-23rd October 11-4pm – Have a go at carving your own pumpkin – How scary will it be?

Chessington

Are running Halloween days out from the 12th October to the 3rd November. They feature spooky animal shows, fancy dress, trick or treat and a new attraction – Spyders.

National Trust in Surrey

Autumn offers such an array of beautiful colours as the leaves on the trees start to change. Why not take a day trip, a short distance to the Surrey Hills and area of outstanding beauty where there are many National Trust locations!

Polesden Lacey, near Dorking, is one of the most atmospheric spots in Surrey to experience Autumn, as the gardens mellow and colour sweeps across the landscape.

British Wildlife Centre

Located in the heart of the East Surrey countryside is home to the finest collection of native species in the country, where you will see and learn about Britain’s own wonderful wildlife, with over forty different species of animals to see.

Kew Gardens

Are Offering fun-filled workshops, performances and storytelling this Autumn half term for all the family. From Saturday 19th to 3rd November 10.30 – 3.30 daily.

Kids will have the chance to get on stage with the School of Comedy and learn how to entertain a crowd, improvisation techniques and tips on how to write hilarious jokes. Or why not delve into the world of fungi names through interactive sessions and follow specially made trails to find fungi in the Gardens.
